Simulation Mode

1 minute read

Sometimes it is desirable to put Motorcortex into simulation mode. this makes it possible to use controlls and tools without the need to connect any physical hardware. this can be done directly on directly on the machine or done using by using SSH from a PC.

Setting Motorcortex into simulation mode

In the comandline of the Motorcortex controller (trough ssh connection or connected directly on the controller).

  1. Go to the /etc/motorcortex/config folder

     cd /etc/motorcortex/config/

  2. Open the motorcortex.conf file

     nano motorcortex.conf

  3. In the file change

     OPTIONS="-c=/etc/motorcortex/config -l=var/www/motorcortex/log"

    to

     OPTIONS="-c=/etc/motorcortex/config -l=var/www/motorcortex/log -s"

  4. Press Ctrl+s to save the file and exit editing the file with Ctrl+x

  5. Restart The system

     sudo reboot

(it might be needed to use the password to execute this command)

Motorcortex is now in simulation mode.
