Connect your PC
Put your PC on the controller’s network and make your browser trust it, so the Motorcortex tools can reach the controller.

The Motorcortex tools run in the browser on your PC and talk straight to the controller. Before they can, your PC and the controller must be on the same network, and your browser must trust the controller’s certificate.
Note
On a cloud machine your PC reaches the controller over the internet, so you skip the network settings. Open the machine’s address in your browser: if it shows a padlock, go on to Step 3; if it warns about the certificate, install the browser certificate below.
What connected means
Your PC is connected when two things are true:
- Same network. The controller listens at
controller_ip_addressThe IP address of your controller. In most cases 192.168.2.100.. Your PC gets a fixed IP addressAn address you type in yourself instead of getting one automatically, so it stays the same. next to it, such as192.168.2.26, with the same subnet maskThe subnet mask tells your PC which part of an address names the network. With 255.255.255.0 the first three numbers must match; only the last one differs per device. ,255.255.255.0. - Trusted certificate. The browser and the controller talk over HTTPS and WSS, which are encrypted. Your browser only accepts the controller when it trusts the Motorcortex certificate.
