Keyboard shortcuts and modifier gestures in Motorcortex Desk.
2 minute read
Desk keeps its shortcuts to the actions you repeat during a measurement session. Modifier keys held over the plot change what a scroll or a drag does.
Shortcuts
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
| Ctrl+S / Cmd+S | Save the controller’s parameters to disk |
| Ctrl+F / Cmd+F | Focus the parameter filter |
| Ctrl+P / Cmd+P | Pause / resume the plot |
| Ctrl+Z / Cmd+Z | Reset zoom |
| Ctrl+A / Cmd+A | Toggle auto-follow |
| Home | Enable auto-follow |
| Ctrl+Shift+R | Reset the panel layout to the default |
| Enter | In the Connection panel: connect. In a value input: write the value |
| Escape | Cancel an inline edit (leaving the value untouched) or an export range selection |
Ctrl+S, Ctrl+F and Enter work while typing in an input; the other shortcuts are ignored there so they cannot fire while you are entering a value.
Modifier gestures on the plot
Hold a key while scrolling or dragging over the plot:
| Key | Effect |
|---|---|
| Shift | X axis only |
| Ctrl / Cmd | Y axis only |
| Alt | Both axes |
While the key is held the plot pans on drag and shows a badge naming the active axis; releasing it restores the previous mode. Auto-follow is not re-enabled automatically — press Home or use the toggle.
Mouse gestures without a modifier: scroll zooms, middle-drag pans, dragging an axis pans that axis, and right-click opens the plot menu. See Navigating the plot.
Selection in the Active panel
| Gesture | Effect |
|---|---|
| Ctrl / Cmd + click | Add or remove a signal from the selection |
| Shift + click | Select a range of signals |
